These are amazing, but I have a question.

What is the premis behind the "Sketch Cards"? I've seen a couple people creating them, but not too sure if I entirely get their point. Anyway, I really like this

Companies like Topps and Upper Deck hire artists to do sketch cards. They send the artist blank cards, the artist draws on them, then returns them to the company. Then they are randomly inserted into card sets (like Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, etc) and then shipped out nation wide. If you buy a box of cards you might get one sketch card, but there's no telling whose artwork you will pull.
